   Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!Would everything in the world have been different if they had not been there.Most of the inhabitants of America have no knowlege, nor do they care or respect.Daughter of one of the true Americans.

   Borepatch–thanks! Even if I never met him, he affected my life profoundly.Anon–Indeed. There are a lot of people who do not know of, or appreciate, the sacrifices that these men and their families made so they have the right to sit in a park and whine about life.But there are also a lot of folks who do know and remember and are fighting, each in their own way, to keep the flame alive. I'm blessed to know some of them. I'm also lucky enough to be the daughter, grand-daughter, great-grand-daughter, and great-great-grand-daughter of true Americans. There are probably more greats in there–we've been here a while. 🙂

   He was one of the greatest generation, and sadly didn't make it back… RIP sir, you ARE remembered…

   Thanks NFO–he was one of the greatest generation–unlike recent generations, he went to Canada to JOIN the war, not run from it.

   B-24 Liberator, heck of a fly-wagon… My Mom's BFF from college married a pilot who flew them in Italy. They are down in FL now, but Next Time they come to Moffett Field I gotta get up in one.
