Himself and I were happy to have Brigid as a guest for the weekend. My part was easy–stand around, admire the view, drink, and snack on freshly cooked pepper steak, french toast, and waffles (no drinking for the french toast and waffles). I was able to put some fresh bread on the table and made a batch of my brownie/shortbread cookies for dessert. The honey butter that Brigid brought at my request from Fair Oaks Farm complimented the bread perfectly (I just like their products and philosophy, they don’t pay me, BTW).
Brigid has pictures here (it was a lot of fun watching her take pictures and then helping her choose the ones to go up on her blog). We went shopping–both at the gun show and at some local shops. Himself found some interesting items about which he posted here. Himself was able to keep us warm while waiting in line at the gun show, much to the jealous dismay of the men around us. The show was nice in that there are always interesting things to look at as well as friends to greet and catch up with.
We were able to connect with the indomitable Og, the Ogwife, Oglet, Partner, and Partner’s partner for some fantastic Italian food and better conversation.
Brigid was our first-ever houseguest and I don’t think we could have had a better maiden voyage on the newly re-worked guest room (it’s actually now a guest room instead of a catch-all for my stuff). We had a great time, got to spend some quality time with a good friend, purchased new weapons, and ate great food (mostly created by Himself). What more could you want in a weekend?!?
