This is sacrifice

Sacrifice is putting yourself in harms way for something you believe in.  Sacrifice is your families watching you go, supporting you,  and waiting for your return.  (Via Borepatch.)

As Borepatch said:  “GO. WATCH. NOW.”  Then go and thank the nearest soldier.  But darn this cold air, my eyes both started watering something fierce.

  1. Isn't it exactly the same type of noble honor if I merely talk about sacrifice? Shouldn't I get a purple heart participation award for watching war news? If I give a speech about my brave Viet Nam service even though I have never been there? Isn't it the same if I effortlessly walk the now-paved path of last century's downtrodden? Isn't feeeeling the same as doing?

  2. Therein lies the problem. The folks who confuse feeeeling with doing, can't tell the difference between the two. Words=deeds in their world and they've never, ever had to walk their talk. If they did, their talk would be much different.
