According to wikipedia (yeah, yeah, but for some stuff it’s okay), Valerie Jarrett is: Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, managing the White House Office of Public Engagement, Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, Office of Urban Affairs, and Chairs the White House Commission on Women and Girls, and White House Office of Olympic, Paralympic, and Youth Sport.
But she’s obviously a clod and probably is the architect of many of the insults (deliberate or otherwise) given to our friends and allies (the Dalai Lama, British Prime Minister, etc.). When she can’t tell a military person in full dress uniform from a waiter, I think maybe she needs to either read up or resign (I vote the latter). It seems the officer in the story handled her insult better than I would have (not surprisingly).
But seriously–with her litany of titles, you’d like to think that she had some modicum of knowledge but she’s more of an amateur than the other poseurs with whom she’s working. Classless and clueless, just like Barack and Michelle. I guess birds of a feather do flock together.
