But no arrests for spying??

Reporters have been kicked out of the upper areas of the White House because they have been caught listening at doors, recording, and otherwise spying on conversations having to do with national security.

Assistant to the President and White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung also addressed the policy change.

He confirmed that the restrictions were implemented after multiple instances of reporters secretly recording video and audio inside West Wing workspaces.

Cheung said some reporters gained unauthorized access to restricted rooms in attempts to overhear private meetings.

Is there a particular reason they haven’t been arrested or kicked out of the White House completely?

  1. many years ago, in West Berlin. there was a building called the 4 powers building (?) a left over from WW2.
anyway, every time they had a meeting(?) , they had to secure
the place ( yeah, right ) teams of “spooks” came thru to check for “bugs” and guard the place until the meeting.
there was a air shaft that went down to the basement of that place. IT HAD TO BE GUARDED. so, you end up with 4 soldiers, one Brit, one Frog, one Russian and one GI.
hands down the most boring job I ever did for Sam.
12-14 hours staring at each other. we where not ALLOWED to talk. but guess what the assholes in the “meeting” talked about ? yup. best sales at what PX. deals on wine and stuff
and what where the best whorehouses in West Berlin.
what a crock of shit. you can not make shit like this up.
honest to God I often wonder what the hell I was doing there.
the very fact they let assholes with “press” passes walk all over the place is unreal or stupid to me.

  2. This is just a furtherance of the well established pattern this admin has of revealing blatant law breaking, without any follow through on arrests, trials, convictions and sentencing. The ongoing raft of revelations (but with no satisfactory outcome regarding punishment of the perps) is useless, except to piss off those of us who know what is coming because these morons will not utilize the power available to them to clean shit up. In turn, I must conclude that is the entire point of this exercise; demoralization by way of futility.

  3. I have never understand how and why “the press”(fake news) think they are OWED OR ENTITLED TO a room all their own at the White House and have offices at the Pentagon which they view as “theirs”.

Frankly, the whole lot of them should be tossed out on their ass until they all learn to be decent human beings.

Better yet, every time one of them acts up in the “Press Room” the Master at Arms should be called to “escort” the miscreant from the premises using the miscreant’s head as a battering ram to open doors on the way out. That might drive the point home that they are “allowed” access at the whim of the President and are not “entitled” to it.

‘Course they’d sue and some Demonrat judge would rule that their First Amendment rights were being violated, to which the answer is “he’s made his ruling, now let’s see him enforce it” (quote attributed to Andrew Jackson) while continuing to deny the miscreant(s) access.

IMHO, Trump screwed that up with Jim Acosta. He should have kept him barred from the WH after that first stunt he pulled during one of Trump’s early news conferences, even after a Demonrat judge ruled that preventing him access to the Press Room violated his 1A right, which is pure boolchit.

Freedom of the Press does not include any of the antics that Acosta pulled.

That’s one of the downfalls of electing a President who is not only an outsider, but also has never served in the military or in any federal capacity and didn’t/still doesn’t understand the power of The Commander in Chief IMHO and how to use Constitutional Law to his advantage. I think he’s getting it together this term though as he has much better advisors in his camp now.

Hegseth is superb as Sec. of War IMHO, J.D. Vance is like a breath of fresh air compared to Pence who was also working behind the scenes to undermine Trump and Stephan Miller is as cunning and knowledgeable of Constitutional Law as any Demonrat, something Trump lacked for ALL of his first term.

Nemo–Yeah, I don’t know how the press was ever allowed to run through the White House with no limits in the first place.

    KurtP–Agree!
