Jimmy Kimmel’s show bites the dust

ht: B:

He might have thought he was too big to be fired. He might have thought that lies were okay. The left really really wanted Charlie Kirk’s killer to be right wing. And lies have worked for them before.

So Kimmel said this:

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,”

Total lie in this new world and in this new day, they aren’t tolerated.

ABC yanked his happy ass right off the air. Indefinitely. And they said this:

Andrew Alford, the president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, added that Kimmel’s “comments about the death of Mr. Kirk are offensive and insensitive at a critical time in our national political discourse.”

“We do not believe they reflect the spectrum of opinions, views, or values of the local communities in which we are located,” he said. “Continuing to give Mr. Kimmel a broadcast platform in the communities we serve is simply not in the public interest at the current time, and we have made the difficult decision to preempt his show in an effort to let cooler heads prevail as we move toward the resumption of respectful, constructive dialogue.”

The FCC is taking a strong interest also.

Kimmel’s comments, meanwhile, also caught the eye of the Federal Communications Commission, with the chairman, Brendan Carr, suggesting Wednesday that the late-night host’s remarks may land him and the network in hot water.

No big loss for Kimmel to be off the air. But the fact that even television networks are taking action is astounding to me.

  1. Could not have happened to a nicer, smugger reprobate anal aperture.

I’m grinning ear to ear. I wonder if he had any idea the size of the fork he stuck himself with.

    LOL!!!!!

  2. I have to confess, I almost popped a chubby on reading that news a short time ago on another site. This is the best entertainment to come out of Kimmel’s show since it’s inception. I know this isn’t what Trump was talking about back in the day when he said we’d do so much winning we’d get tired of it, and there are much greater battles that need to be won. But I’ll take this for the time being, we’ve gotten rid of two of the smarmiest pricks on TV with the elimination of him and Colbert.

  3. It’s about time that toilet was flushed. It’s almost as if no one noticed how depraved all of these fools were until a week or so ago. It’s actually kind of startling that the people writing the checks are drawing a line- finally. Never thought I’d see it- we’ll see how long it lasts.

  4. So we are to believe that the very people who have been gaslighting and spewing hate and lies for at least the last decade have had a change of heart and realize what they have been doing is nothing short of evil?

  5. boneman–He’s been spewing stupid for so long he probably thought he was okay.

BRD–Chubby aside, I totally agree with you.

TRoy–It does seem like they’ve caught a clue.

Mary Jane Clark–Nope. But the people that allowed them to–the ones paying their salaries have. I think it’s a combination of the Bud Light effect where companies were put on notice that if they pissed off conservatives, their bottom line was hit hard and the fact that Trump has been working to dismantle the DEI and other constraints, like social scores for companies. This frees them up to actually take action to protect their bottom line.

  6. I am especially glad to see Kimmel canceled.

That’s two MAJOR far left mass media moonbat scalps in less than two months.

Read a couple stories this AM relating how he’s “livid” he got fired. He still doesn’t get that free speech doesn’t apply to making your employer look bad or saying something that gets your employer or his employer’s sponsors BOYCOTTED.

You know, the companies that pay the bills.

2 down, 2 others of no real consequence to go.

Now he can join the equally useless propagandist Colbert on the unemployment line. They both think they’re going to come back as podcasters or do stand up or something. Can’t wait for THAT reality to set in.

So much winning!!! This … is … MAGA!

  8. I wonder if this “change of heart” has anything to do with the bill in congress? The over the air stations are running adds asking people to call their representatives to keep over the air stations. I have not seen anything detailing what this “bill” is about. Anybody here have that information or can link me???
