The snakes realize that the field is burning….

Word is that Washington DC bureaucrats are resigning ahead of Trump’s inauguration.  Some of them were folks that were on the chopping block anyway, like Wray from the FBI.

Some were kind of surprises, like the head of the FAA, who had the unfortunate task of working for Mayor Pete for the last few years.  And the head of the SEC, Gary Gensler, decided to take a powder, which is to the good.

One of them, a member of Pocahontas’ illegal National Labor Relations Board was not re-upped due to a nice FU from Sens. Joe Manchin, W.V., and Kyrsten Sinema, Arizona as they’re on the way out the door.

There’s a whole bunch who are probably packing because they know they’re gone come January 21.  But they don’t have the balls to do the right thing.

And there’s probably a bunch who are hunkering down trying to fly below the radar in order to do as much damage to the Trump agenda as they can before they’re caught.

But hopefully there will be some attrition in the rank and file as well once they don’t have their differential, undeserved pay (living thousands of miles away from their home base), having to return to offices that have been abandoned to the point where the water and air systems molded, or are double dipping by having two ‘full time’ jobs.

From the DOGE Senate Chair’s report showing how this slacking was really modeling after department leadership:

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, his Deputy Kathleen Hicks, General Services Administrator Robin Carnahan, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg all claimed to be on the clock while being out of office and unreachable.

• Secretary Austin didn’t inform the president, the national security advisor, or other White House officials when he was hospitalized for days;29

• Deputy Secretary Hicks ran the Pentagon while on a beach vacation in Puerto Rico;30

• Secretary Buttigieg claimed to be online 24/7 while on paternity leave, but declined phone calls and meetings with Members of Congress of both parties;31 and

• Administrator Carnahan largely works from home in Missouri, not from her D.C. office.32

These absences are negatively impacting agency performance and morale as even employees within the agencies are frustrated by the unresponsiveness of their own managers and colleagues.

I would think it would be a no-brainer to do a search on federal employee SSN to ferret out home addresses and second jobs.  Once the screws are put to this idiocy, hopefully it’ll start to vanish.

  1. Who the heck is “Administrator Carahan”. Had to look her up; https://www.gsa.gov/about-us/organization/office-of-the-administrator-overview. That agency has something like 11,600 employees and a budget of $16 BILLION!!!. I'm of the belief that EVERY government agency needs to have their budget “frozen”. As in, “ya ain't gonna get an increase in budget this year”.And I also propose an automatic 10 % cut to their budgets. I really don't think that's enough but we have to start somewhere.
