I was at one of the local stores yesterday afternoon during my weekend rounds. One of the women that used to work there was walking around in a mask coughing her lungs out to the point where I was uncomfortable. Turns out she’d been diagnosed with pneumonia and it was hanging on.
So instead of staying home and calling in her order and either doing a quick dash-and-pay or paying over the phone (she was familiar with the store and its products, naturally), she decided to wander around spreading her germs and staying to chat.
But she fully bought into two ideas–one, that masks work (which we know they don’t) and two, that it’s okay to be out and about when sick as long as it’s not covid.
I probably should have just gone outside until she left but I wasn’t done with my shopping. I did try to stay on the other side of the store from her as best as possible.
And so yay–now I’m feeling under the weather… Yeek.
