 I guess maybe that misery loves company, but Chile seems to be having the same issues with the Haitians as we are.  Because the Chilean Congress just advanced a bill to protect its citizens’ pets:

«In Chile, it is documented that foreign communities, particularly Haitians, consume the meat of domestic animals and pets, such as cats. There are many reports, some even showing the street sale of this meat (without clearly stating that it is dog or cat meat). This is why we are seeking to criminalize, with relatively high penalties, the slaughter, consumption, and distribution of the meat of domestic animals, pets, and companion animals.»

Really???  Who woulda thunk?  But us rednecks are just being raaaaccist when we report the same thing, according to the propaganda media and the fuckers who are flying these people into our country.

Oh, and Ohio law 

(B) No person shall knowingly torture, torment, needlessly mutilate or maim, cruelly beat, poison, needlessly kill, or commit an act of cruelty against a companion animal.

(C) No person shall knowingly cause serious physical harm to a companion animal.

Just in case you’re wondering.  Cats and dogs, regardless of where they are, are covered:

 (1) “Companion animal” means any animal that is kept inside a residential dwelling and any dog or cat regardless of where it is kept

 There is a US federal law prohibiting the interstate or international trade in cats and dogs for consumption.

I wonder if the US propaganda machine will also call the Chileans racists?
