Walking the talk on energy

A Congresswoman in Wyoming has thrown down the gauntlet to the city of Boulder, Colorado.  Give up fossil fuels within your city limits.  All of them.

“My point of pushing for a pilot project is to expose — once and for all — these snake oil salesmen for what they truly are. If we were to actually give up our use of coal, oil, and gas, we would immediately revert to living in third-world, harsh and deplorable conditions,” Hageman told Just the News.

As reported by the Cowboy State Daily, she also said:

“If they want to transition 330 million people to a non-fossil fuel future, how about it starts small? How about we start with a pilot project like Boulder, Colorado? Let’s take out all their gas stations, let’s take out all their gas stoves, all their water heaters, all the pavement and return them to dirt roads, right?” Hageman said. Asphalt is made with petroleum.

Of course the Boulder City Council folks answered with a hearty ‘harumph’.

Connected to this are some analyses by a couple of guys known as the Energy Bad Boys.  They are actually deep diving into pipe-dream projections that ‘renewable’ energy is more cost effective than traditional energy.

“We saw that there were large pieces of the puzzle that were missing, and that really got us curious. How do we fill these missing pieces?” Orr said.

Orr said that a lot of the modeling done by renewable energy advocates uses a “bait and switch” baseline to claim that their policy proposals will save money relative an alternative scenario. So, they’ll compare their plan to another plan to incorporate wind and solar on the grid, rather than comparing the proposal to the grid as it exists today.

“So that’s how they get away with promoting this fiction that we can reduce our emissions and also provide lower cost. It’s not lower cost compared to today. It’s compared to some other kind of made-up scenario that would potentially exist in the future,” Orr said.

Because if you’re using crap data for decision-making, you get crap decisions.

  1. Don't forget that all plastics are from petroleum sources, so bye-bye to anything plastic. Which is basically everything. They need to go back to wearing animal skins, walking everywhere while barefoot, and cooking food by impaling it on a stick and holding it over a campfire. Oh, no, burning wood is bad too. Maybe just set it on a hot rock and hope there's enough sunlight to warm stuff up? Don't forget all the insulation in modern houses is from petroleum sources too, so back to living in caves and rock huts.

  3. There would be ZERO solar, wind, or other alternative energy sources too. Also no copper for transmission lines to get whatever electricity they could generate to anywhere, etc. EVERYTHING on this planet (practically) relies on oil/coal/natural gas, etc. I don't think that the truth about Rockefeller convincing the media to call oil a “fossil fuel” to promote its “scarcity” is given enough attention. If indeed the heat from the mantle is constantly generating more and more of these materials, then they too are “renewable.” I see no reason NOT to believe that this is the case. I certainly have NO REASON to believe that Rockefeller was anything other than an opportunist and a global criminal, along with every single one of his demon spawn progeny.

  5. Don–I vote for that as long as we can bus in the Just Stop Oil folks too.Avraham–She's just stating the obvious plus calling out a city on their BS.MrLiberty–'Renewables' are raping the planet more than fossil fuels ever did.Bear Claw–DittoNFO–Indeed.

  6. Is it crap data of intentional fraud? My money is on the latter. Inquiring minds boggle at the depth of self-loathing necessary to wish for mid evil feudalism again.
