This is just a short from youtube, but man, did it hit me right in the feelz. He caught the idea of the mobius loop that is conversation with a person with dementia, spot on as well as the sadness of the person talking to them.

I remember one particular accident victim who was perseverating. “What happened?” “You were in an accident.” “Oh…What happened?” “You were in an accident.” “Oh…What happened?” ” A bear attacked you.” “Oh…What happened?” “Aliens abducted you and did experiments.” “Oh…What happened?” “Your ex hired an incompetent hit man.” “Oh…What happened?” Yeah, a few years on the fire department (and a few other professions) can give you a sick sense of humor.
