Loudoun County in the news again–the kids are speaking out (and are getting ignored)

The Loudoun County school board is the poster child for really bad policy.  They allowed a guy in a skirt to rape a girl and get away with it, just transferring him to another school where he did it again.  Their policy about allowing students who ‘identify’ as the opposite sex into the bathroom of their choice is the problem.  But they’d rather sacrifice children and vilify and arrest parents who complain.

But now the children are speaking out.  They aren’t comfortable, either sex, with girls in the boys’ room and vice versa.  They aren’t using the facilities because they don’t know who is going to come in.

Students at Woodgrove High School in Virginia held a walkout to protest the district’s policy on transgender bathrooms.7News

Another male student told WJLA: “I would like to be able when I get off football practice and go put my pads away and change not feel uncomfortable with other genders in there watching me.”

He added: “I feel that girls feel the same way about the situation. How would you feel if you were a female changing with a male?”

A female student said she stopped using the bathroom because of the policy, calling it a “massive safety risk” that the district doesn’t “do anything about.”

“We express these concerns and they ignore us and write us off as right-wing crazies,” she told WJLA.

The school board says that they are following its ‘established procedures’ to review the policy.  Which is admin-speak for drawing it out as much as possible and hope that the protestors graduate before they have to take any action.

  3. I moved my family from California to Loudoun County in 96. My sons were in middle school. Me and my wife quickly found that the teachers, admin, and school board were problems. My sons had issues all through their school until they each graduated in 2004 and 2005. Me and my wife never got anywhere with the teachers, admin, or school board so we ended up tutoring our sons through each class and teaching them what was not being taught. After each graduated they each decided on different Trade Schools and not college that me and my wife had gone to. They paid for it and it was less then half a year of college. Both make well over 6 figures, have houses, have cars, and good bank accounts. We all have moved south.

  4. school in the usa was better in the old days. then things started going downhill. my impression was the hidden attempts to introduce socialism was the root cause of the problem.

  6. At the beginning of the school year the Loudoun school district posted a YouTube video featuring two older gentleman encouraging kids to go to school. Seems that 5 days into the new year and a high number of students were missing. I wonder if the Loudoun school district policy of encouraging sexual assaults had something to do with it.
