The World Cup of Swimming opened a new class for men impersonating women since they closed out the women’s class from them. Not surprising, but no one signed up.
‘Following the close of registration for the open category competitions, World Aquatics can confirm that no entries have been received for the Open Category events,’ they said in a statement.
I’m guessing it’s because there was no guaranteed win since the men would be, probably, competing with other men. Why bother if it puts them back on a level playing field, so to speak….
And in Sports Fishing, the entire women’s angling team from England decided to boycott competitions if men dressed as women were allowed to compete in their categories.
From the President of that Sports Federation:
“In line with the recent debates wondering around the question of whether it is fair to let transgender [women] participate in female competitions, we have finally concluded that this eventuality is absolutely discriminatory, especially in those disciplines where the physical strength can make a difference,” Matteoli said in a statement Sept. 29.
And that’s how it’s done.
