Supreme Court to the Dems–pound sand

The Dems, lead by Dick Durbin, are trying very hard to take over the Supreme Court by implementing ‘ethics oversight’.

Of course they have no problem ignoring the system of checks and balances that are the pillars of our Republic. Because how else do you completely destroy this country without taking down the third leg of the stool?  They’ve got two out of the three.

A letter in response to Durbin’s ‘request’ stated:

“Testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee by the Chief Justice of the United States is exceedingly rare, as one might expect in light of separation of powers concerns and the importance of preserving judicial independence,”

Samuel Alito last week addressed the fact that conservative justices were in danger after the leak of the Dobbs draft.

“It was rational for people to believe that they might be able to stop the decision in Dobbs by killing one of us,” Alito said of threats that emerged after the leak, including the arrest of an armed man outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh — days before the ruling was announced.

The letter linked above, that was signed by all nine justices also addressed that:

“A word is necessary concerning security. Judges at all levels face increased threats to personal safety,” the letter said. “These threats are magnified with respect to Members of the Supreme Court, given the higher profile of the matters they address. Recent episodes confirm that such dangers are not merely hypothetical.

I am glad that all the justices are holding the line against a clear unConstitutional takeover bid by the Dems.  While I don’t think much of some of their opinions, they are the Constitutional third branch and if that autonomy is erased, then we’re fucked even more than we are already.

ETA: If you hadn’t guessed, all of this was to try to force Clarence Thomas off the bench.  But at least all nine justices stood together, and for very good reasons.
